Utility Bill Assistance

Arkansas Valley Electric Round Up utility bill assistance

Using donations from the public, non-profits, management and Arkansas Valley Electric customers, the Round Up assistance program can help income qualified families pay their utility bills. The grants from the service that are used to pay energy bills are combined with payment plans, free energy efficiency measures as well as other assistance programs

The goal of this service is to help in a crisis only. If a customer needs long term support for paying utility or electric bills, then Round Up is not the best choice for them. Instead federal LIHEAP grants from Human Services may be an alternative. Find more details on the Arkansas Valley Electric Round Up utility bill assistance program below.

Tax free donations and contributions

Arkansas Valley Electric relies solely on the generosity of the community. Without donations, volunteers collecting money, charities spreading the word, customers as well as employees being generous, and countless other people, the Arkansas Valley Electric Round Up program would not exist. All of these groups and individuals go above and beyond to help the less fortunate to pay their utility bills.

Donations come from many sources. They include; but are not limited too employees; customers (both business and private); management; local churches; charities such as Boy or Girl Scouts; retail stores including Wal-Mart; donor drives and more. 100% of the funds go to pay utility bills of qualified private customers. No funds go to pay the energy costs of a business.

There are a few ways to donate to the Arkansas Valley Electric Round Up utility bill assistance program. One is of course just by donating (volunteering) your time. Another way is by making a monetary donation. If so, all of the money goes to pay utility bills and the donor gets a tax break too. If a monetary donation is made, it can be a one time payment or someone can contribute month in and month out through a round up service.

All contributions are voluntary. They can be started or stopped at any time. Same goes with people or charities that work with Arkansas Valley Electric to collect money to pay for the utility assistance program. No one is under any obligation to help.

Energy bill assistance from Arkansas Valley Electric Round Up

The funding is limited. Usually only a small subset of needy customers get assistance. When funds are available, only a portion of a utility bill will be paid. Also, as noted, this is for emergencies only. It will be if say a customer losses a job (unexpectedly), they get sick and missed work, maybe a child or wage earner gets very ill, or situations like that. It can also help the disabled or elderly with their bills.

As noted, the program uses donations. Any utility or heating bill assistance from Arkansas Valley Electric Round Up is first come-served. Once the money runs out it is done. After the program helps (if it does) the customer may be referred to LIHEAP for future bills. Or some form of payment plan may be explored as well.
