Multiple public government and private funded programs are offered by both Yankee Gas and Connecticut Light & Power. The companies are offering to help their customers across the state keep their utility service connected and heat on.
Some of the assistance programs offered include spreading out payments, matching payments, and utility bill assistance programs that help consumers make their residences more energy efficient and help them save on utility bills. In addition the companies are also offering cash grants and money for billing assistance for qualified low to moderate income customers.
In addition to the programs offered by Yankee Gas and Connecticut Light & Power, the state of Connecticut also offers limited-income customers assistance through the Contingency Heating Assistance Program as well as the Connecticut Energy Assistance Program. Last, but not least the nonprofit organization Operation Fuel also is available to help customers who don't qualify for state or federal government aid.
