Get utility bill assistance from Reliant Energy

There are a total of five main programs that Reliant Energy offers its customers. Find details on all the options below.

Get help with your service connection and deposit expenses from the Low Income Deposit (L.I.D.) Program. This program assists families and individuals who live in the Centerpoint (CNP) service territory. The money ensures the deposit is paid for on time.

CARE Energy Assistance Program is an utility bill assistance program that was created from private donations and matching grants from Reliant Energy and local businesses. Customers who are eligible for this assistance program may receive one-time assistance through local charities and non-profit social service agencies in our communities. PowerHouse program provides help as professionals will conduct home energy efficiency repairs for low-income and senior customers in the service territory. Receive a new refrigerator, floor or attic Insulation, a new air conditioner, or other home improvements.

Home Repairs are also offered by Reliant Energy. This service is for low income, unemployed, elderly and/or disabled Houston-area homeowners. The program is formally known as Rebuilding Together Houston, and the goal is to improve people’s homes in such a fashion that it will permanently reduce peoples energy and utility bills.

Last, but not least, the Weatherization Assistance Program will also help people lower their utility bills. This is a federal funded program. Qualified families can receive up to $5,000 in free energy saving improvements to their home. The program is free, and it can help people save hundreds of dollars per year.
