One time assistance for utility bills can be provided by Ocala Electric and their donation program known as Neighbors Who Care. The fact is that many people may occasionally fall on hard times. They may struggle with a monthly utility bill or even face a shut off of their service. In addition to all of the government funded assistance programs, another option is known as Neighbors Who Care.
Using contributions from the community, financial support may be offered to those who seek assistance. While it can be difficult to ask for help, it is better to reach out rather than have your power or electricity shut off. Ocala Electric works with customers, companies, and others from the community to offer them the Neighbors Who Care program.
Especially when considering the challenging economy, there are individuals, families, and seniors in the region who have fallen on hard times or are facing a short term crisis. It could be someone who has been laid off from work, a working single parent struggling to support a family due to unexpected costs, or a family that has incurred large medical bills. When this occurs, a helping hand may be available.
Using contributions from the community, Ocala Utility and Electric services offers qualified low income customers with the Neighbors Who Care energy bill assistance program. It helps those from the region that are experiencing tough economic times. Funds are used to help them pay their utility bills.
It relies on the generous, tax deductible donations from the community. The company invites people to pledge a monthly amount or make a one-time donation that will be added to your utility bill. The amount is up to you, and people can donate a $1 or $10. Or give any amount. Every single contribution helps.
Any contributions will be turned over to the local United Way. They administer the program with Ocala Electric and the United Way forwards the money to a local, non-profit service agency. They will then process the applications and give the money out for distribution. The agency administers the program and screens potential recipients.

If you donate, all the money stays in the local Florida community and helps residents, and maybe it will even be your neighbors. None of the hard earned money donated is used for administration costs.
Anyone can make a donation using the contribution form. One time donations can also be added to your monthly utility bill. Please sure to note that the funds are for the Neighbors Who Care program. Any donation that is made will help someone that is less fortunate. It may allow them to keep their power on, and it will go a long way to helping.
