There are cash contributions from the public, local church groups, and charities. Employees of Peninsula Light Company also donate money to the service, and this includes everyone from executive management to hourly employees.
Not only can anyone contribute, but there are multiple ways to do so as well. It can be someone mailing in a check, and that money will go to the Project Help program for paying energy bills. Or there are other options including rounding up a monthly bill, which can be started or stopped at anytime.
In addition, donations also come from the company itself. This is when they match other funds. So if during the course of the year there is a certain amount of money contributed, the company will take some of their own corporate funds and scale up the amount of aid available.
