Donations for the Pensacola Energy Project EUAP program, which help pay utility bills, comes from both the City Sanitation department as well as Pensacola Energy customers. All of the money raised from the community is used to assist low income senior citizens, the working poor, and/or disabled with paying their utility bills.
The funds are limited, and there are also application criteria in place. The biggest condition for applicants will be their income. The second criteria will be a plan of action to address the emergency they are facing, as energy bill assistance is limited. So Project EUAP may require such actions as case management or a commitment to applying for LIHEAP, weatherization, or some similar program.
Give back by contributing to Pensacola Energy Project EUAP
Donate back to EUAP to help the local Pensacola Florida community. The main way to do this is through what is known as Round Up. This is when the current monthly utility bill is rounded up to the next highest dollar amount. It is a variable donation made each and every month, and it will amount to less than 50 cents per month. The exact range is one penny to 50 cents, and all of those funds go to assist with paying utility as well as electric bill of less fortunate customers.
The other way to donate is to give a set dollar amount added to the monthly Pensacola Energy or Sanitation bill each month. This is a fixed amount, and that contribution also goes to the program. Anyone who wishes to sign up can donate a dollar, two, three, or more per month to their utility bill. The donor can decide on the amount, and they can change or cancel it any any time as it is voluntary.

In general, donating to this utility bill assistance program is tax deductible. But it is recommended to check with an accountant if any questions/concerns. Donors will also be given a receipt each year so they have it for income tax filing purposes.
Who gets assistance for their energy bills
The Pensacola Energy Project EUAP will only help pay utility bills. So it is electric, light, cooling, and the like. It does not pay sanitation and/or water costs. Other local programs or charities will need to be contacted for that type of financial aid.
Even though the focus is on utility bills, that in itself can make a big difference in the community. As many low income families struggle to keep up. They often are threatened with a disconnect of their power, or they fall behind on their Pensacola Energy bills. The generous donations from the community do make a big difference to those that are struggling.
Many of the applicants to EUAP lived on a fixed income, and that can be senior citizens as well as the disabled. Others that often benefit can be the working poor who lost a job or that had a reduction in their income. As noted, any applicants to this donation program need to show proof of household income, assets, and more information.
The main number to the program is (850) 435-1800. Anyone interested in applying to Project EUAP, or donating to it, should call for more information.
