Donate to, or get utility bill assistance, from the Town of Cary North Carolina Oasis program. This free service is for low income customers whose income is close to or around LIHEAP levels. In addition, energy bill assistance is given when there is an unexpected crisis such as job loss, illness in family, death, relationship issue, or a health crisis. Oasis is not a poverty fighting program for long term assistance. In fact most of the help from Oasis in the tTown of Cary, and the use of the donations, is for people who are seeking financial assistance for the first time in their life.
The program is run in partnership with Dorcas Ministries in Cary. They are a local charity that provides assistance. However the town itself will collect donations for Oasis – not Dorcas. All of this information is listed below.
As noted, Oasis is for families in Cary that are facing problems with their utility bills for the first time. The donations are not used for customers that are chronically struggling. Dorcas Ministries will make this assessment and provide those funds. The electric and other utility assistance is combined with case management too.
The financial aid to pay utility, electric or cooling bills from Town of Cary Oasis is for one time crisis events. But even more importantly, Dorcas Ministries will help the applicant gain long term stability. This includes employment, budgeting help, food, and more. The case workers will also help clients apply to LIHEAP or weatherization, both of which are government run programs in North Carolina.
Note only Town of Cary utility bills are paid by Oasis. No other energy companies are. As that is what the donation service is intended for. Dorcas Ministries will ensure the rules are followed. But there are limited funds and strict guidelines.

Donations to Oasis in town of Cary
There are two ways to contribute. One is to make a one time donation. Thousands of Cary households tend to do this per year. Every single dollar amount is appreciated, and 100% of the donations go to paying local utility bills. As after all a few thousands local residents fall behind on their bills each month, and Oasis can help many of them.
The second way to give back and contribute to the community is to donate a fixed monthly amount on each utility bill. Someone can give a dollar or two, or even 50 cents or whatever. The Town of Cary will automatically add that donation to each town utility bill. The contribution can be started or stopped at anytime.
To donate, the phone number is (919) 469-4050. Or the address for contributions is Town of Cary Finance Department, P.O. Box 8049, Cary, NC 27512.
