Entergy offers its customers various assistance programs. Some are funded by the government, some by private grouos, and some by the utility company itself. The options include.
Federal government Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) is an utility program that provides grants, cash assistance and money to help families and individuals with paying utility and energy bills and provides funds for other energy-related expenses. The LIHEAP program is funded through both the local state and federal government and works with the community action agencies in Mississippi to help customers pay for and keep electric service in their homes. For information on how to apply for assistance, call Entergy in Mississippi at 1-800-421-0761.
Entergy Power to Care is another option. The utility bill assistance program is funded by Entergy, its employees, local businesses and its customers throughout the state of Mississippi. All of these groups regularly contribute to The Power to Care program, which is a special fund that provides emergency utility bill assistance for low income, the elderly and disabled customers in the area. The Salvation Army, local charities and partners who are part of this assistance program use grants and other money from the fund to help pay the electric bills of qualifying customers throughout the state.
Entergy also partners closely with local non-profit and charity agencies such as the Mississippi Salvation Army as well as the United Way. Together they offer financial assistance for paying utility bills, food, and other aid. Dial 1-800-368-3749.
