Utility Bill Assistance

Financial assistance from Nevada Energy.

A few different emergency assistance programs are offered for customers of Nevada Energy. Some are provided directly by the energy company, and others are run in partnership with other local non-profits or government programs. The details and specifics of each option are listed below.

Nevada Energy Relief through Energy Assistance to Prevent Customer Hardships, which is informally known as Project REACH. This service is a NV Energy funded assistance program. The program is intended for low income and/or vulnerable adults over the age of 62 years, the disabled, medically fragile or Reserve and National Guard members. There are income limits in place for the program. The program only runs during the hot summer months, and funding is limited. The Nevada Energy Project REACH program is both managed and administered through a network of United Way of Southern Nevada partner agencies. Some of the agencies to call to apply include the following. If an agency can’t help you, they more than likely can provide you additional phone numbers to call. HopeLink - 566-0576 ext. 10; Lutheran Social Services of Nevada - 639-1730;  Salvation Army Family Services - 649-8240; HELP of Southern Nevada - 369-4357 ext. 231; Las Vegas - Clark County Urban League - 636-3949.

Special Assistance Fund for Energy (SAFE), also known as the SAFE program, is also closely associated with and supported by Nevada Energy. It is a so called program of last resort, and it was created to assist people and families that have limited incomes and are struggling with paying electric and utility bills. This utility bill assistance program is intended to supplement state of Nevada as well as federal government low-income energy assistance programs, such as LIHEAP. The program is funded by donations, and SAFE funds can be received once by applicant during a 12-month period for a utility bill at least 30 days past due.

Receive an energy audit, which can help you save on your utility bills, from Comfort Savings.
