Utility Bill Assistance

York County SC Natural Gas Authority Feel the Heat assistance program.

The York County Natural Gas Authority provides financial assistance to its customers through the United Way as well as other social service agencies, and the funds are used to pay utility, gas, and other energy related bills. The program is known as Feel the Heat, and YCNGA collects donations from residential and business customers which then provide the funds to the needy.

While Feel the Heat is the program run by the Natural Gas Authority in York County, low income senior citizens as well as the disabled may also apply to Sharing the Warmth. This is another program in the region that relies on donations to help the less fortunate with a small portion of their utility bills.

Applying to Feel the Heat or Sharing the Warmth in York County

The Gas Company does not process applications themselves. Rather the United Way and their referral service is the place to call for help. Low income families in need of financial help for paying their utility or gas bills (whether Winter, Spring, Fall, or Summer) will be placed in tough with a local charity or social service agency. The York County Natural Gas Authority is only involved in collecting donations for the two programs.

Not only can the United Way, and its partners, assist a qualified family with paying their utility bills, but they can also arrange other support such as free food, housing, medical, budgeting, counseling and more. As it is often most effective for any utility bill assistance to be combined with other social services.

Another big advantage of the York County Natural Gas Authority Feel the Heat donation assistance program is the financial aid is often combined with government support from LIHEAP. Or YCNGA will arrange payment plans on unpaid gas bills or help with free conservation measures.
