There are a few primary programs offered that Ameren customers can access. Read about each service below, as well as who to contact.
Dollar More. The Ameren Missouri Dollar More utility and heating bill assistance program assists individuals and families with their home energy costs and bills. The program is funded through voluntary donations from caring people in the community, as well as local businesses and Ameren itself. Almost 200,000 families have been helped over the years. The Dollar More programs help with paying home energy bills and costs, including electricity, natural gas, heating oil and propane bills. Read more.
Cold Weather Rule. While there are many conditions that need to be met, if a customer applies, meets the conditions, at the end of the day this program prohibits disconnection of residential utility and heating service during the time period November 1 to March 31 of each and every year.
Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) - This program, which is funded by Missouri and the federal government has two main components. The first being the Energy Assistance/Regular Heating (EA) and the second being the Energy Crisis Intervention Program (ECIP). The EA program was designed to provide cash grants and financial assistance to help pay heating bills for Missourians during the cold winter months.
Energy Plus. This is a name given to a resource that provides numerous types of programs. For example, some of the components include Deferred Pay Date (put payments on a schedule), Energy Plus Grants Program (helps weatherize homes), Gatekeeper (aid for the elderly who live alone).
