Utility Bill Assistance

Intermountain Gas Project programs

One time as well as recurring monthly donations are used by Intermountain Gas to keep both Project Warmth and Share program running. This is an assistance program created in an effort to help families that are truly facing an emergency. However, one unique component of it is that it is only available as the result of funds donated by people from across the service territory.

The two resources are offered in partnership with other non-profit agencies in Idaho, and these other groups will both screen applicants and disburse funds. They are also involved in collecting money that is donated from generous households or businesses in the Idaho community. Not only that, but Intermountain Gas will also generally contribute to it as well. They do this by matching the donations already made to Project Share. Read more Intermountain Power Project Share.

The money from them is only as a last resort, when the customer is out of options. It is generally for heating bills for households with children. One benefit of this is it makes it easier for people to donate as they know there hard earned money is not going to some customer that was in chronic poverty. Rather, their contribution will make a difference in a family that is truly faced with a one time crisis.

Any donations will be tax deductible in Idaho. Therefore, depending on the person's tax bracket, they could receive a 10 to 40% reduction in their taxes for that money that is donated to those struggling with their utilities. So it will therefore not cost the person as much to contribute.

Intermountain Gas offers struggling customers assistance from Project Share. Literally thousands of Idaho families have benefited from this service over the years. Or another very similar option is Project Warmth. In either case, all funding is screened by partner agencies.

Not only can any person contribute as much as they want (or as little) but there are also community fund raisers held. Every dollar raised will make a difference, especially when some of the infamous cold fronts hit Idaho. Countless families have been assisted with paying their heating and utility bills, and it has kept power for many people.

The company operates across a number of areas in Idaho. Intermountain Gas can help people apply for any of these Project programs, or they can even refer low income customers to other options. As noted, they do rely on donations, so place contribute if possible. Or maybe someone can't take part this year due to their financial condition, but the Project Warmth and Share services run in subsequent years too.
