Southwest Gas offers it customers in Nevada several assistance programs to help them pay their utility and gas bills. The two main options range from a payment plan (see below) to direct financial aid The options and programs include the following.
Deferred Payment Program - Another program for Southwest Gas customers who are facing a hardship or crisis, the deferred payment plan allows those customer to pay their utility or energy bill over an extended period of time to help prevent a disconnection. This utility assistance program gives them an opportunity to obtain assistance on their gas and/or utility bills before service is discontinued. The program will also make referrals to federal government programs or local social service agencies and charities in Nevada. It can in effect give the Southwest Gas customer in Nevada more time (within limits) to find a solution.
Energy Share - This is an emergency fund that was created from donations, and it will provide direct financial assistance and cash grants to qualified people and families who have an unexpected financial difficulty or hardship. Some examples of what may qualify for a grant include the loss of a job, a family crisis or a medical emergency. All Energy Share funds are administered by The Salvation Army in Nevada.
